ABOUT ME

I've been involved in the community ownership movement since 2015, when I helped a democratic fans’ organisation take over Bath City FC, the football club I support, through a £365,000 community share offer. Since then, I have worked with a number of local groups to take the things that matter to them – pubs, bike shops, arts centres, music venues, football clubs – into community ownership.

I also served on the board of Supporters Direct, the national organisation for democratic supporter groups in sport, including as its representative in Europe. I write a monthly newsletter for community-owned pubs, and have contributed to Stir to Action magazine as a writer and speaker.

In 2013, I received my MA in Critical and Creative Analysis from the Sociology Department of Goldsmiths College, University of London, with my dissertation focusing on an organisation of craft beer lovers. I returned to Goldsmiths in 2018 as a part-time doctoral researcher.

I live near Bath with my wife and young daughter, who is already a regular in our local community-owned pub, The Bell.
